Looking ahead to next season’s interior design trends

Next season’s interior design trends

We know that property sales can be slow in the summer, so you’re better to prepare for those autumn and winter viewings while it’s quiet by styling your property to appeal to those off-peak buyers. They tend to be more serious and their buying cycle is often shorter than those viewing properties in the summer with a dream of living here in the sun. This makes them more appealing to the serious vendor.

So it may be boiling outside, but we’re always looking to the future and thankfully so is the interior design world! Here are some of our favourite trends which are coming out from designers and property stylists for you to consider applying to your property.

  1. Flower patterns – We always love putting fresh flowers into our properties, as it gives light, scent and lift. But this season you’ll find flowers across soft furnishings, accessories, wall coverings and prints and they’ll be big! Oversized floral patterns are already on the highstreet and they are an easy way to inject some colour and modern look into an otherwise plain room.
  2. Black accessories – The trend for jet black accessories will work really well in the typically minimalist, white properties which are so common on the Costa del Sol. They will make the white brighter and more pure and turn it into a monochrome statement quickly and easily.
  3. Bright and bold colours – This trend is mainly appearing on soft furnishings, where designers are letting loose on playful patterns which really bring joy into the room. This is another way to break up the white typical of Costa del Sol properties and bring some fun and colour into the room.
  4. Navy Blue – Dark blue is the major colour for the season. It is a really interesting colour which can be incorporated into soft furnishings, or even into paintwork. This is a bold colour, but very classy and elegant and used correctly it can really make a statement.
